Do you have the most important brushes in your bathroom?
I know your thinking of course I have everything I need on my counter and what could a brush really help. Well I can tell you that a brush is really that important and here are a few that you need to make sure you have to ensure that your hair, scalp and conditioner are doing the best possible.
And most important is a Wet Brush
a wet brush is hands down a game changer for any gentle detangling to end the day or a midday brushing. You can be sure that if you use a wet brush to detangle your hair you will reduce breakage and snapping of those long tresses. And it is a must have for any extensions client as well. But that brush is also your bff for making your conditioner last and last. Take that wet brush into the shower and after applying a small amount to your hair (seriously like 1/2 or a 1/3 of what you usually use) and then use your wet brush to work the conditioner through your hair. For longer hair also turn your head upside down and work the product in the ends first then flip the hair back and brush it back. When your hair feels silky smooth you will know you have worked it through.
A boars head brush
We are so often only looking at the ends of our hair to see if our hair is healthy. But are you forgetting your scalp? A boars head brush is super important to exfoliate and move the natural oils from our scalp to our hair. Brushing your hair stimulates blood circulation in the scalp and also distributes sebum (hair oil) along the shafts. This, on its own, enhances the hair, making it look luminous and shiny. Proper blood circulation also delivers oxygen and essential nutrients to the hair follicles from where the hair grows. For all my extension clients you can still stimulate your scalp by brushing side to side over top of your extensions. If you have more points of contact in your scalp from tape-ins or bonded extensions simply rub (gently) the scalp above your extensions to bring the blood to the follicle.
A good paddle or round brush
Having a trusty styling brush for blow drying is essential. If your hair is long and your often curling or flat ironing your hair after a drying your hair a flat brush is your bff. Or if your looking to minimize thermal use a good round brush is all you need.
These 3 bushes are all you need to ensure the health of your scalp, hair and styling. Do you have all 3 in your arsenal? If not feel free to shoot me a message and I am happy to recommend the best for your style.
