How to make every salon visit a breeze!

Do you want to have the absolute best experience for your hair appointment? No matter if you sit in my chair or someone else’s these tips will ensure your stylist and you will enjoy every minute of it.

Confirm your appointment

It’s so important to let your salon know you are coming to your appointment. Some salons require an appointment to be confirmed to hold the spot. So be sure to click that little button to let us know you are in fact coming.

Come with clean hair

I can not tell you how many times I hear clients say “I thought dirty hair was better”. And this is so far from the truth. Our color is very gentle and the more oils and products you have in the way can cause the color to not perform as well. And your stylist often will not have time to wash and dry your hair before a color application. This is the same for extension maintenance as well. Often your move-ups do not include a shampoo and blow dry unless you schedule one. So be sure that your hair is clean for your extension maintenance as well.

Show up a few minutes early

There is nothing more frustrating for a stylist than when you are late. I personally hate running late myself and always try to notify my clients if I am running late before they arrive. And when you are running behind it can make the whole vibe of the appointment more rushed. So I always suggest trying to be 5 minutes early for your hair appointment. Now traffic and other life situations can arise and when they do it’s best to contact your stylist to let them know. Once you are on the way and two how late you may be. That lets them determine how that affects your appointment and those after your time.

Bring photos

A photo says a thousand words. And having photos to show your stylist is so important. One pro tip is to make sure the hair in the inspiration photo is exactly how you plan to style your hair. If the photo is full glam and curled and you wear your hair straight the color will not look like the photo.

Bring your challenges

Do you have something that annoys you with your hair care routine or style? Be sure to let your stylist know before your appointment begins. It can be something small that a simple style lesson can fix. Or it could be wanting to change your overall look. The best thing you can do is lay it all out and let your stylist know so that they can troubleshoot. Pro-tip, if you are someone who may forget to bring all the questions, write them out before. I love to have this information even before the appointment begins. This is why I ask it in my pre-appointment check-in form. I appreciate the time to process what options I can think of even before my clients come in. So do not feel strange about even emailing your stylist your questions and challenges.

I hope this list of ways to make your next hair appointment a success. Be sure to forward this to anyone else to can use some tips to also make their hair appointments amazing as well.
